Contemporary Poetry: The Survival in Blood
The Survival in Blood
By Poet Muhammed Albarno
Peace is a river, gentle and bright,
But in our jungle, the river flows red,
Guiding good steps, hope, and light,
But our light turns to darkness.
Peace builds homes, lifts our dreams,
In your area, the story is different.
Safety is born in another world,
Where love is found and exists.
In our darkness, only fear is near.
Our children learn in pain with fear.
Burning ever, higher and higher,
Joy is absent; we play with debris.
Conflict comes like a raging fire,
Burning everywhere, far and near.
It cuts the lives of old and young,
Silencing every careful tongue.
All scholars are living under fear;
Leaders struggle only for their gain.
Schools grow empty, trees turn to ice,
Stories of sorrow are barely told.
Raising the sound of guns like thunder,
Everywhere sparks, families scatter.
The nation cries and looks into the sky,
While the innocent ask, "Why, why, why?"
Peace is good where hatred ends.
We choose it; let all wars cease.
With hearts of kindness, we pray for peace.
Let us come together for our world to fly.
Grass is more beautiful than a river of blood.
Let the children breathe and be cared for.
For our future promises to keep,
The promises we make are deep.
Let peace survive in our way;
Conflict must leave far away.
Peace is stronger than the sword,
For peace belongs and survives.
